HAKKIMDA/ABOUT ME
I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at Izmir Bakırçay University, Izmir. I have an MA in Gender and Women Studies at St. Mary’s University, Halifax. Then, I finished my PhD at the Geography department of Queen’s University in May 2015, where I held major scholarships including a Canada Research Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and a dissertation scholarship from the Association of the American Geographers. Since I returned to Turkey in 2015, I’ve been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, at various different universities in Turkey on urban geography and public policy, feminist geographies of the city in addition to political ecology and environmental movements in the Middle East.
